Xaranna is a brand-new camp located to the south west of Chief’s Island. It has just 9 chalets with canvas roofs. It is at the top end of the market with its own very individualistic style. It is located on a permanent water channel and is a superb setting for ornithologists. It is accessed by air. The time from an airstrip to the camp varies according to the time of year. It can be between 20 and 60 minutes and be by either land or water depending on the flood levels.
The lodge has, ‘interior designer on the loose’ stamped all over it. Silk green, pink and white scatter cushions abound. There is a camp fire area and a large wood burning stove for the cool winter evenings.
The luxury chalets all have decking which overlook the water and feature a private 5 metre pool. They are furnished in the same style as the lodge with incredible attention to detail. They also have air-conditioning.
